As a Guarantor, why do I need to complete a RentPassort®?

Whether you are a renter or a guarantor, you will be required to complete a RentPassport. A RentPassport is essentially a referencing report with Canopy.

As a basic, the agent will require a credit check, income verification and rent payments history, in other words, your current living situation.

Don't worry if you do not pay rent as you will have the ability to state this in the rent payments section.

The RentPassport gives agents insight into whether or not a guarantor can afford to guarantee a renter as well as if they are a homeowner or a renter themselves to include in their assessment.

All agencies have different rules on guarantors so we provide them with this information through a RentPassport. some agents may require additional information such as employment and landlord references.

Why am I asked to evidence rent payments, I am a homeowner?

The rent payments section, in other words, explains your current living situation.

Don't worry if you do not pay rent as you will have the ability to state you are a homeowner in this section.
