Verifying your savings with the manual journey
Verifying your savings with the manual journey

To verify your savings you can connect with Open Banking or you can provide documents as part of the manual journey.

Please note: if you have transferred all your savings from one bank account to another, we will need to see evidence of this. You can find more details on documents we can accept here.

For step-by-step instructions on verifying your savings manually, see below:

Step 1:
Select the 'Verify savings' section on your RentPassport.

Step 2:
Click 'Add' next to 'Your Savings' and enter the details of your savings account.

Step 3:

Next, you will be prompted to enter the amount of savings. This does not have to be the total amount you have available, this has to be the amount you would like to contribute towards rent.

Please note this figure will have had to be present in your account for at least 3 months.

Step 4:

Now you will need to supply evidence to verify the amount stated. To manually verify, select 'Upload documents instead' and you will bee presented with a button labelled "Upload documents".

Step 5:

You will be prompted to select a document from a list of acceptable evidence. You can find more information on acceptable evidence here.

Click on your chosen document and you will have a checklist to ensure you have the correct evidence to upload and speed up your verification.

Click "Upload Documents" to begin your upload. You are able to add more than one document and view / delete each document.

Click "Submit" when you have finished uploading the specific document type.

Step 6:

Finally, review all your details for your savings verification. Here you can upload any different documents by clicking "Upload more documents". Once you are happy with everything, click "Submit".

You have successfully submitted your savings for review*. You can go back and upload another savings submission if you have multiple savings accounts.

*All documents will be reviewed during our working hours. You can find our opening hours here.

Please note: If your RentPassport® is not connected to an agent, sections not auto-verified will appear as self-certified. All manual reviews by our referencing team will be undertaken once you have connected to an agent for a tenancy application.
