Fixing common credit report problems

Updated over a year ago

More than 30% of people find mistakes on their credit report when they first check it.

Broadly the types of mistakes you need to keep an eye for in your credit report fall into these 3 categories:

  • Missing information

  • Wrong information - old or outdated

  • Extra or odd information.

Which is why it’s important to check your report on a regular basis.

If you spot any mistakes then;

  • Talk to the lender to see if they make the changes required.

  • Raise a dispute with the relevant credit referencing agency.

  • Explain the problem clearly to help resolve the issue quickly.
