3 Easy ways to build your credit history
Updated over 8 months ago

Having little or no credit history can make it difficult for companies to assess you, and your credit score may be lower as a result.

This problem is common amongst younger people and people who are new to the country.

Luckily, there are some steps you may be able to take to build up your credit history. Here are 3 ways to get you started;

1. Open and manage a UK Bank Account

By opening and managing a UK bank account, you are effectively showing you can manage your money in a responsible manner.

2. Set up direct debits

Set up some regular direct debit payments for bills such as gas, electricity, mobile phone or even contents insurance as this will help build up your history of regular punctual payments.

3. Make payments on time

Make sure you don't miss any payments as these are recorded as missed or late and may go against you.
